Mark and Darrin at Fruhlingsfest
A Beer Celebration

The Stuttgarter Fruhlingsfest is an annual festival held to celebrate the start of spring.

It has the same look and feel as a state fair. Well, except for the huge (5,000+ people) beer tents with busty, dirndl-clad waitresses delivering ice-cold German beer in 1 Liter frosty mugs.

So, enough with the ferris wheel and carnies. Let's go inside and sample some brew!

Reinheitsgebot

The German purity law states that beer can only be made from malted barley, wheat, hops, yeast, and water. In 1516, Duke Wilhelm IV decreed that beer must be pure (Great vision)! Since then, it has been against the law to add preservatives, color, or anything else to German beer.

You have to drink to that!

Germany kicks the crap out of Hooters!

Ein Prosit

Ein Prosit, Ein Prosit, der gemiitlichkeit
Ein Prosit, Ein Prosit, der gemiitlichkeit
Eins, Zwei, Drei, g'suffa

Whenever this song is played (and it is played often), everyone sings / screams along and then chugs their beer.

Ein Prosit
God Loves Us

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."
  - Ben Franklin

Apparently God wants the Germans to be very happy!

Ich Mochte Bier
Today Was A Good Day

Nothing better than a cold beer on a beautiful afternoon with nothing to look forward to than more of the same!
